unwanted
hair. Return to your regular routine immediately after your treatment.
A free consultation
with Skin Saver can answer any questions you may have.
Treatments are performed
in the privacy of a doctor's office by a registered nurse.
How it works
Laser Hair Removal works by focusing a laser beneath the surface of your skin.
The laser's frequency is designed to vaporize pigments in your hair follicles.
When vaporized, the hair follicle is damaged, reducing or eliminating further
growth. Five to six treatments, one per month, are required for optimal results.
Does it hurt?
You will feel a slight stinging sensation as the laser fires. You can apply
a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort. We recommend Ellamax 5%.
Ask us how to apply.
How much time off should I take?
You can return to your regular routine
immediately after treatment.

Laser Hair Removal Pre-Treatment Information and Instructions
1. Avoid waxing, plucking, depilatory creams, or electrolysis
for at least 4-6 weeks prior to treatment. You may continue to
shave for up to a day or two prior to the test treatment.
2.
Full hair root growth is required for initial assessment and
documentation photos. After the initial assessment, you should
shave within 12- 14 hours prior to treatments.
3. Do not wear make-up, deodorant, perfumes, powders, or moisturizers
on the treatment areas.
4. Treatment areas should not be exposed to the sun prior to or
following treatment. For optimal results, refrain completely from
sun tanning, using tanning beds, or self-tanning
products for 1-3 months prior to therapy. Apply a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB)
sunscreen of SPF 15-30 on exposed areas for 4-6 weeks before and after treatment.
If you have recently tanned skin, appointments should be postponed for 2-3
weeks, until your skin returns to its normal color.
5. Caution is advised for persons with a history of herpes simplex
in the treatment area. Those who carry the herpes simplex virus
and receive treatment on their upper lip, chin, lower
cheeks or bikini area may have a flare-up of their condition. The risk of this
complication can be reduced if you take a prescribed antiviral medication for
a few days before and after each treatment. If you have an active herpes outbreak
your appointment should be rescheduled.
6. If the skin in the treatment area is broken, inflamed or has
an active infection, your appointment will have to be rescheduled.
7. Use of hydroquinone (bleaching agent), retinoic acid (Retin-A),
or any Alpha-Hydroxy products should be discontinued for 3-4 days
prior to treatment.
8. Caution is advised for receiving laser treatment (1 you exhibit
hypersensitivity to hydroquinone or other bleaching agents, or
if you have used oral isotretinoin (Accutane)
within the preceding six months.
9. Persons with a history of keloid scar formation may be more
prone to scarring after any skin trauma, including laser treatment,
therefore caution is advised.
10. Please note that you may be more sensitive and uncomfortable
during the procedure if you are premenstrual, tired, or taking
antibiotics.
